Intel Acquires Moovit to Accelerate Mobileye’s Mobility-as-a-Service Offering
Santa Clara, California – 4th May 2020 – Intel Corporation has announced it has acquired Moovit, a mobility-as-a-service (MaaS) solutions company, for approximately $900 million ($840 million net of Intel Capital equity gain). Moovit is known for its urban mobility application that offers travelers around the world, multimodal trip planning, by combining public transportation, bicycle and scooter services, ride-hailing and car-sharing. Astra Capital Acquires Majority Stake in Edge Specialist DartPoints

Adaptive Biotechnologies and Microsoft launch virtual ImmuneRACE study to inform novel COVID-19 diagnostics to address unmet needs in testing
Seattle and Redmond, Washington – 5th May 2020 - Adaptive Biotechnologies Corp. has announced it has begun enrolling a virtual clinical study, ImmuneRACE, as part of a broader effort it has undertaken with Microsoft Corp. (Nasdaq: MSFT) to rapidly map and measure the immune response to the COVID-19 virus to inform improved diagnostics to fulfill the need for more reliable testing. The study calls for 1,000 participants in select U.S. metropolitan areas impacted by COVID-19. De-identified data will be made freely available to public health officials, academia and industry to help accelerate solutions to the pandemic. LabCorp, through its Covance drug development business, will manage the collection of blood samples and nose/throat swabs from participants in the comfort and safety of their own homes.

Wipro signs MoU with Maharashtra to repurpose Pune IT facility to 450-bed COVID-19 hospital
Bangalore, India - 5th May 2020 - Wipro Limited, a global information technology, consulting and business process services company, has signed a memorandum of understanding with the Government of Maharashtra under which it will repurpose one of its information technology campuses in Hinjewadi, Pune to a 450-bed intermediary care COVID-19 hospital in four weeks and hand it over to the state government by May 30. This is an independent, isolated COVID-19 dedicated complex that includes 24 well-appointed rooms to accommodate doctors and medical staff. Wipro will provide the physical infrastructure, medical furniture and equipment besides appointing an administrator and skeletal support staff to help operationalise the hospital quickly with the required medical professionals. Uddhav Thackeray, Chief Minister, Maharashtra said, “This humanitarian contribution by Wipro will further strengthen our medical infrastructure and benefit the medical fraternity who are at the forefront of our fight against the pandemic.”

Adobe Launches $1 Million Community Fund to Support Creatives in 2020
28th April 2020 - Adobe has announced, in a blog post by Mala Sharma, VP & GM Creative Cloud, the creation of a $1 million Creative Residency Community Fund for 2020. The sum, which will be made available in grants to applicants worldwide, is meant to support the creative community during this incredibly difficult and unprecedented time. The fund was unveiled through Adobe’s blog as an extension of the Adobe Creative Residency program. In past years, Adobe would bring on a new class of creative residents, funding a creative project of their choice for a year and benefitting from the feedback these creatives can provide. However this year the have decided on a change of tack: “This year, in response to the extensive need in the creative community for support due to COVID-19, we’ve decided to restructure the program to benefit many more people.”
